GAER AND SKIRRID COTTAGE
CWM COED-Y-CERRIG, LOWER CWMYOY, MONMOUTHSHIRE. NP7 7NA
In the beautiful BLACK MOUNTAINS of SOUTH WALES
(45 minutes from the Severn Bridge)
The Gaer and Skirrid cottages have been sympathetically converted from a stone barn built in the late 1800s as part of Cwm Coed-y-Cerrig farmstead.
Walk through 50 acres of our own beautiful ancient meadows & woodlands, straight onto the Black Mountains.
A Hill Walkers & Nature Lovers paradise, with direct access onto the Gaer Mountain which forms the southern side of the spectacular Llanthony Valley. Visit the 12th century ruins of the Abbey, (lovely pub in the grounds), continue on foot, bicycle or by car to Hay-on-Wye (world famous for second-hand books and the annual Literary Festival).
This is a very special part of Wales, the sheltering hills of the market town of Abergavenny forming a chain linking the Black Mountains with the Brecon Beacons.
Peace, tranquility, starry nights, wild flowers, ravens, buzzards and so much more!
Nestling in the foothills of the Black Mountains are these country cottages in an idyllic setting. Surrounded by bird song, wild flowers, rambling paths and ancient woodland. A great escape from city living.
